Cheloniids
are quadrupeds
some are elephantine
others are flippers.
They lack teeth,
Instead having rhamphotheca.
The carapace is covered with keratin
Some are thought to demonstrate cloacal respiration
All are exothermic
And those that live in frigid lacustrine environments
Are known to brumate when temperatures drop.
